Tween Book Club
Tuesdays, June 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th 4-5pm
Join Ms. Bonnie for a book club just for tweens. The club will read the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series by Kathryn Lasky. There will be lively discussion, crafts and activities. Don't miss out - space is limited! Sign-up in advance at the Adult Reference Desk. Grades 4-6

Teen Art Reception
Tuesday, June 15th 7pm
Please join us to recognize the talents of our local teen artists with an exhibit of their art above the shelves. Refreshments will be served.


Lego Club
Friday, June 25th 3:30-4:30pm
Spend the afternoon exercising your mad Lego building skills! The Library has a ton of Legos, or you can bring your own. We are going to work on stop motion movies. Please bring a digital camera if you have one. Grades 4-9


Teen Movie: New Moon

Get ready for the release of Eclipse with a viewing of New Moon on the Library's big screen.

Lego Club

Spend an afternoon exercising your mad Lego-building skills at the We'll have library Legos for you to work with, maybe start planning your own movie, or just build crazy creations. Cyberbullying Workshop for Tweens & Parents
Thursday, May 13th 7-8:30pm
With the recent rash of “bullycides” by young people, it is imperative that parents understand the technology at their children’s fingertips, as well as the safeguards that need to be implemented to help them navigate safely through adolescence. The Safety Education Department of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island is coming to do an information presentation for parents and tweens. Topics include relational aggression, bullying, cyber-bullying and reducing risk. They will teach us how to identify and respond to the issues that can arise from these behaviors. This program is free and open to all!

Beach Bag Book Club
Tuesday, June 1st 4:30pm
We have teamed up again with the Merrick, North Merrick and Bellmore Library to bring back the Beach Bag Book Club. We will meet three times this summer at the Merrick Library Wing on Merrick Avenue in Merrick. At each event, hosted by young adult author Jen Calonita (Secrets of My Hollywood Life series), teens will get to discuss a book pre-selected for them with not only Ms. Calonita, but with the author of the book itself. Our first book will be Reality Check by Jen Calonita. Sign up in advance at the Adult Reference Desk. Everyone that signs up gets a beach bag to tote all of your favorite books around in this summer.

Join us on March 31st at 4pm to watch the second chapter of Stephenie Meyer s best-selling Twilight series, the romance between mortal Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) grows more intense as ancient secrets threaten to destroy them.
