Summer 2020

Imagine Your Story – Summer Reading 2020
The theme of this year’s summer reading program is “Imagine Your Story” and NBPL has imagined an exciting, new virtual reading program on Reader Zone. Like our traditional summer reading program, you will report your reading to enter weekly raffles. However, this year you will be able to easily track and report your reading in Reader Zone --no trip to the library necessary!  The first 25 teens to sign up for summer reading will receive a bundle containing Imagine Your Story swag, instructions on setting up your Reader Zone account, and a book by Jen Calonita to help you to get your summer reading started!

To get more information on downloading and using the Reader Zone app and to view YA recommended reads, visit: https://nblsummerreading.com/young-adult-summer-reading-club/

A Summer of Fun!
NBPL wants to bring you a summer full of fun! We will be offering weekly “Bundles of Fun” for teens in grades 6 & up throughout the summer. Each bundle will contain a fun and engaging activity to keep you busy. Bundles will be distributed to the first 20+ patrons to register each week as supplies allow.
**A new bundle signup will be offered every Monday, beginning June 15th.**

Virtual “Teen Night In” Programs
On Thursdays throughout the summer, we will be offering weekly virtual teen events on Zoom in collaboration with the Merrick, North Merrick and Bellmore libraries. Registration for these events will be on our web site,  events calendar, and Facebook page. Open to grades 6 & up.

Upcoming Events
Join us for:
VIRTUAL TEEN BINGO NIGHT on Thursday June 18 at 7:00pm. Register in advance to play for prizes with other local teens.

TELL YOUR STORY: FAIRY TALE WORKSHOP on Thursday June 25th at 7pm where you can Imagine your own Fairy Tale story line and play a game of Fairy Tale themed Taboo!

Additional virtual teen events, including games, crafts, and more to be announced throughout the summer.
