LIT: TEEN PAINT NIGHT
Friday, March 13th 6:30-8:30pm
North Bellmore, North Merrick, Bellmore, and Merrick Libraries, invite you to a night of fun as you paint your own canvas creation! This is a drop off event at North Bellmore Public Library for teens in grades 6-12. Space is limited. Register in advance at the reference desk or at www.northbellmorelibrary.org

SAT REVIEW CLASS

April 6th, 20th, 27th from 6:30-8:30pm
This six-week class covers the math and verbal sections of the Scholastic Aptitude Test. Students must register in advance at the Adult Reference Desk. An $85 check, payable to Melissa Bielawski, is due at registration. Students must also buy McGraw-Hill SAT 2020 1st Edition. A limited number of copies will be available for purchase at the reference desk for $15. Registration begins February 3rd.
Space is limited.

Community Service

TEEN CROCHET
Wednesdays, March 4th, & 18th  7-8:00pm
Our teen crocheters will continue to work on a project that will be donated to those in need. Community service will be awarded.

IRISH SODA BREAD FOR CHARITY
Monday, March 9th 7-8:00pm
Share some St. Patrick’s Day cheer with others by preparing Irish Soda Bread that
will be donated to a local charity. Please register in advance. Community service credit
will be awarded.

CAPES FOR KIDS
Monday, March 16th  3:30-4:30pm
Support the Capes for Kids program by decorating superhero capes that will be donated to children living in shelters. Please register in advance. Community service credit will be awarded.

DROP-IN COMMUNITY SERVICE
Saturday, March 21st 11:00am-1:00pm
Earn up to 2 hours of community service designing quilt squares and coloring decorative pages. No registration required.

TOYS FOR SHELTER DOGS
Monday, March 23rd 7-8:00pm
Craft toys for dogs in local animal shelters. Please register in advance. Community service will be awarded.

LIT: SONIC THE HEDGEHOG MOVIE EVENT
Friday, February 28th 4:00pm
You are invited to a viewing of Sonic the Hedgehog at the Bellmore Playhouse. Watch as Sonic adjusts to life on earth while fighting evil with his new human best friend. Please register in advance. This program is a drop off event only for teens in grades 6 through 12. Space is limited.

We invite you to the Bellmore Playhouse for a viewing of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Join us to watch as the surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more as Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron's journey continues. Enjoy free popcorn and soda. This is a drop off event only. Space is limited. Registration is required and ongoing.

Do you hate making a speech in class? Come learn how to speak with confidence! This workshop will enable you to improve your public speaking techniques through games and other exercises in a non-stressful, fun, effective environment that will encourage your self-assurance and creativity!

Little Angel Fund WELCOME kITS
Tuesday, January 7th  7-8:00pm
A volunteer from The Little Angel Fund will help us to assemble Welcome Kits that will be distributed to families of premature and ill infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We will also design cards. Community service credit will be awarded. 
DOOR DECORATIONS FOR SENIORS
Monday January 13th 3:30-4:30pm
Make someone’s day by crafting seasonal door hangers that will be distributed to a local senior care facility. Community service credit will be awarded.
“ADOPT ME” PORTRAITS
Thursday January 23rd 4-5:30pm
Join Miss Theresa to paint portraits of adorable shelter animals that will encourage each animals’ adoption and help them find their forever homes. Community service credit will be awarded.
DESIGN A BOOKMARK
Thursday January 30th 7-8:00pm
The Book Fairies collects and distributes reading materials for people in need throughout metropolitan New York. Join us to design bookmarks that can be given out with books and other materials. Community service credit will be awarded.

Create a Snowbuddy Worskhop
Monday, December 16th 3:30-4:30pm
Be a helper to children in grades k-2 as they hand-stuff and name their newest buddy- a snowman! Please register in advance. Community service credit will be awarded.

Hats for the Homeless
Thursday, December 19th 7-8:00pm
Join us to craft fleece hats for a local homeless shelter. No sewing required. Please register in advance Community service credit will be awarded.  Space is limited.

Have fun decorating cupcakes and battling to see who has the best Thanksgiving theme cupcake. Please register with the North Merrick Library at www.northmerricklibrary.org. This is a drop off event only. Space is limited. Open to grades 6 - 12.Registration is required.

cookie kits for charity
Thursday, November 14th 7-8:30pm
Spread some joy by preparing and decorating cookie kits in jars for a local food pantry. This activity requires handing dry food ingredients. Those with food allergies should visit the reference desk for a list of ingredients. Please register in advance. Community service credit will be awarded.


BIRTHDAY BOXES
Tuesday, November 27th 3:30pm
Our Library hosted a Birthday Party Supply drive in collaboration with Birthday Wishes, a local charity with a mission to provide birthday parties to children experiencing homelessness. Now we need help to assemble and decorate the boxes for delivery. Join us to help make a child’s birthday special. You can also bring any
donations with you to the event. The boxes will include: new, unopened birthday supplies such as themed plastic tablecloths, birthday banners, party hats, blowers, balloons, disposable cake pans, juice boxes, birthday plates and napkins and unwrapped toys. Please register in advance. Community service credit will be awarded.
