Volunteers Needed!
The Friends of the Library need volunteers to help out at their Spring Plant Sale on Saturday, May 11th from 9am-4pm. We ask that volunteers donate at least 2 hours of their time. Please sign-up at the Reference Desk, or call Mrs. Tymecki if you have any questions.

BEACH BAG BOOK CLUB
It’s baaaack!! We have once again teamed up with the Merrick, North Merrick and Bellmore Library to bring back the Beach Bag Book Club. At each event, hosted by young adult author Jen Calonita (Secrets of My Hollywood Life and Belles series), teens will get to discuss a book pre-selected for them with not only Ms. Calonita, but with the author of the book itself! We are starting our club off with a bang, hosting Susane Colasanti author of All I Need on Tuesday, May 21st at 7pm. Everyone that signs up gets a beach bag to tote all of your favorite books around in this summer. Sign up in advance online or at the Adult Reference Desk. FAMILY YOGA with Vicky Seff

Join us to celebrate National Family Month which is celebrated annually from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day. It encourages family relationships and focuses on developing healthy, confident kids. And what better way to celebrate than Family Yoga? Yoga is a health-based system of exercise that explores and integrates the mind, body, and breath. For the full benefit of the Yoga class, families should wear comfortable clothes that allow them to move and stretch. Open to grades 4 and up with an adult. Join us to celebrate the newest release in Jen Calonita’s Belles series “The Grass Is Always Greener”. We are having a sweet sixteen party just like Izzie & Mira! MARCH PROGRAMS


SAT Prep Course
Learn tricks and techniques for taking the SATs. Enhance your math and verbal skills while learning test taking strategies that can help you get a higher score. This 6 week course will be held from 6:45-8:45pm on the following Thursday evenings: March 7th, 14th, 21st and April 4th, 18th & 25th.  The fee is $80.00 per student. Please make checks payable to Melissa Bielawski. Students must purchase McGraw-Hill’s SAT I Book, which is available for purchase at the Library for $5. Sign-up in advance at the Adult Reference Desk.

Book Buddies
Mondays, March 4th, 11th & 18th 3:30-4:15pm
Teens and children become “buddies” by sharing books and a positive library experience. Children get a chance to practice their reading skills and/or be read to while teens gain volunteer experience, and a chance to make a difference in a child’s life.

Carnival for Kids
Tuesday, March 26th 3:30-5pm
The Young Adult Department is sponsoring a Carnival for children in grades  K-3 and we need your help! We need teen volunteers to help set-up, decorate, run the different booths, distribute prizes, etc.

Dog Treats for Charity
Wednesday, March 27th  7pm
Unfortunately we can’t bring home every dog that lives in the shelter, but we can brighten their day with tasty treats! Join Mrs. Kathy to make dog biscuits to be donated to a local animal shelter.

Marshmallow Pops
Thursday, March 28th 4pm
Celebrate “Something On A Stick Day” at the Library! Mrs. Kathy will demonstrate different ways to decorate marshmallow pops using white and milk chocolate and lots of goodies. Please let us know if you have any food allergies when signing-up.
