MARCH PROGRAMS

SAT Prep Course

Learn tricks and techniques for taking the SATs. Enhance your math and verbal skills while learning test taking strategies that can help you get a higher score. This 6 week course will be held from 6:45-8:45pm on the following Thursday evenings: March 7^th, 14^th, 21^st and April 4^th, 18^th & 25^th.  The fee is $80.00 per student. Please make checks payable to Melissa Bielawski. Students must purchase McGraw-Hill’s SAT I Book, which is available for purchase at the Library for $5. Sign-up in advance at the Adult Reference Desk.

Book Buddies

Mondays, March 4^th, 11^th & 18^th 3:30-4:15pm

Teens and children become “buddies” by sharing books and a positive library experience. Children get a chance to practice their reading skills and/or be read to while teens gain volunteer experience, and a chance to make a difference in a child’s life.

Carnival for Kids

Tuesday, March 26^th 3:30-5pm

The Young Adult Department is sponsoring a Carnival for children in grades  K-3 and we need your help! We need teen volunteers to help set-up, decorate, run the different booths, distribute prizes, etc.

Dog Treats for Charity

Wednesday, March 27^th  7pm

Unfortunately we can’t bring home every dog that lives in the shelter, but we can brighten their day with tasty treats! Join Mrs. Kathy to make dog biscuits to be donated to a local animal shelter.

Marshmallow Pops

Thursday, March 28^th 4pm

Celebrate “Something On A Stick Day” at the Library! Mrs. Kathy will demonstrate different ways to decorate marshmallow pops using white and milk chocolate and lots of goodies. Please let us know if you have any food allergies when signing-up.

Chess Club

Teen Movie: Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2

Saturday, March 30^th 2pm

Join us for a viewing of the final chapter of the Twilight Saga phenomenon!  After the birth of Renesmee, the Cullens gather other vampire clans in order to protect the child from a false allegation that puts the family in front of the Volturi.

Pillows for Charity @ NBL

Due to the popularity of this program, we have added a second session. If you are waitlisted for the original program or not registered yet-don't miss out! We have openings for Pillows for Charity - the sequel, on Thursday, February 7th from 8-9pm. Sign-up now - space is limited!!

FEBRUARY PROGRAMS

Community Service Club
Wednesdays, February 20^th and 27^th, 

3:30-4:30pm

Join our club and start giving back! We will discuss possible projects and programs that will give back to our community. Our first project will be hosting a Dr. Seuss party for children in grades k-5. Have fun & earn community service credit too! Sign-up in advance online or at the Adult Reference Desk.

Candy Making

Monday, February 11^th 5-6pm

Join Mrs. Kathy to learn how to make Valentine’s Day chocolates. We will decorate them for our Valentine or for ourselves!

Babysitting Workshop

Tuesday, February 12^th, 5-7pm

Teens are invited to learn the basics of  caring for infants and small children along with first aid techniques. Registered nurses Joanne Tanck and Georgette Basso will present a two-hour basic first aid course and an introduction to babysitting skills. Please bring a doll or stuffed animal for demonstration. Certificates will be awarded.

Bookend Decorating

Wednesday, February 13^th, 4-5pm

Use your crafty skills to beautify the Young Adult Department. We will decorate our boring old

bookends with paint and collages to spruce up the YA section. Community service will be Awarded. Sign-up in advance online or at the Adult Reference Desk.

Grab your friends and join us for a viewing of Pitch Perfect. Beca, a freshman at Barden University, is cajoled into joining The Bellas, her school's all-girls singing group. Injecting some much needed energy into their repertoire, The Bellas take on their male rivals in a campus competition.  Rated PG-13.

DOG BEDS FOR CHARITY
