BOOKEND DECORATING

  Monday, January 12^th, 3:30-4:30pm

Use your crafty skills to beautify the Young Adult Department. We will decorate our boring old bookends with paint and collages to spruce up the YA section. Sign-up in advance online or at the Adult Reference Desk. Grade 5+

TEEN MOVIE: THE GIVER

Wednesday, January 14^th 6pm

In a seemingly perfect community, without war, pain, suffering, differences or choice, a young boy is chosen to learn from an elderly man about the true pain and pleasure of the "real" world. This film is based on Lois Lowry's award winning novel of the same name. You decide which is better! Rated PG-13

COOKIES FOR CHARITY

Wednesday, January 21^st 7-8pm

Join us in baking for a good cause.  We will learn to make homemade chocolate chip cookies from scratch, and Mrs. Kathy will bake half of them and bring them to the Mary Brennan INN soup kitchen in Hempstead.  We will bring the other half home to enjoy with family and friends. Grade 5+

Chess Club

Our chess club will meet on Tuesdays, January 6^th & 20^th and February 3^rd & 17^th. New players welcome! All skill levels! We are also hosting a Chess Tournament on Sunday, March 1^st. Stay tuned for more details!

Taco night

Tuesday, January 27^th 7-8pm

Mrs. Kathy will teach us how to season chicken and prepare a

delicious and nutritious taco. There will be a choice of soft and hard tacos, and lots of toppings! Please let us know in advance if you have any food allergies.
