I just wanted to let you know that my son LOVED the Wingspan Yoga class yesterday. When Andrew came out of the Community Room, his words were: "It was awesome." He really didn't mind being the only boy there--I had mentioned to him that originally yoga was only practiced by men--he has a lot of female friends.
He liked the exercises, how Julie let them use the chimes, the relaxation with the lavender aromatherapy. He felt happy for the rest of the evening...My son is a Diabetic, and even though dinner was late (due to the class), he had good blood sugar levels, which we attribute to the yoga class.
Andrew is excited and can't wait to next week.
To try to get more students interested, perhaps you can contact the middle schools/high schools in the area and ask them to include a blurb in their newsletters/announcements...

Interestingly, three Moms (including myself) also take yoga at the library and we took our kids.
We really hope Julie is able to run more Wingspan Yoga Classes at the library.

We'd love to have an informal chess tournament here at the NBPL. We've attended one at the Hicksville Library and one at the Rockville Centre Library. Both were great--low key and fun for the kids--no pressure of heavy competition.
Please speak the Mr. J and perhaps something can be planned for late winter/early Spring.

I would love to host an informal chess tournament here at the North Bellmore Library. Mr. J and I have spoken about it numerous times, and I am waiting for him to send me the appropriate paperwork. Hopefully we can have it this Spring. I will definitely post it on the blog and in the newsletter once we get it together. Thank you so much for your input, it is greatly appreciated!

I am so happy that Andrew enjoyed the yoga class here at the library. Julie is a fantastic instructor, and we're lucky to have her here.I have sent the flyers out to the schools, so hopefully we can drum up more interest. We had the maximum amount of teens signed up for the class, but only half of them showed up. Hopefully next week we will have the full class. I also plan to host yoga this summer, and hope Andrew will sign up!

I am guessing these programs for the breack are for this past year and are over? Are you planning on having any during the breacks during this upcoming year?
