NBL NEEDS A FEW GOOD TEENS!

Do you need to beef up that college application? Earn community service hours for P.I.G.? Need hours for your Bar/Bat mitzvah? Or are you just a good person that likes to lend a helping hand in your community?
Search no further than your local library. We are currently accepting applications for volunteers in grades 6-12.
  • Join the TEEN ADVISORY GROUP. It meets monthly at the Library. Bring your ideas, opinions and friends to assist Young Adult Services with programming ideas and things important to teens who use the Library.
  • Become a Book Buddy volunteer. Come once a week and read to a young child.
  • Write a book review of a young adult title to be posted on the Teen Scene.

CHESS CLUB
Children (3rd-6th Grades) 7:00-7:55PM
YA & Adults (7th-Adult) 8:00-8:55PM
Our chess club will meet this month on Tuesdays, April 1st, 15th & 21st. New players welcome! Register on any night the club meets.

WINGSPAN Yoga for Teens
Tuesdays, April 3rd & 17th 5-6pm
Come sprout your wings and soar to new heights through yoga! Taught by certified yoga instructor Julie Weiss, the teen yoga classes build strength, flexibility, and self-confidence. Teens will concentrate on yoga postures, breathing techniques and meditation exercises. Please wear comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle, and a yoga mat if you have your own. Extra mats will be available if you need to borrow. Please register in advance.

TEEN ADVISORY GROUP

New members welcome! We need YOU to share your thoughts and opinions about the North Bellmore Library. Give us your feedback about our collection of books, movies and music. Tell us want kinds of programs you want to see. Discuss important issues affecting your library. Meetings will be held every month, please try to attend all meetings

Come find out how you can save the planet and help us celebrate Earth Day at the library. We will paint and decorate an environmentally friendly tote bag. Make Earth Day today and every day!

Are you a teen who likes reading with young children? If so, apply to become a Book Buddy Volunteer. See a librarian for an application. Return it to the Adult Reference Desk to be considered. All volunteers must attend a training session on one of the following dates:

The library is pairing up our young adult patrons with young children to become Book Buddies. This team would meet at the library to read together. If interested please fill out an application at the library. Volunteers must attend a training session prior to participation.

SAT PREPARATION WORKSHOP
Thursdays, from 6:45-8:45PM
Learn the tricks and techniques for taking the SAT Exams. Enhance your math and verbal skills and learn the test taking strategies that can help you attain a higher score. Registration is limited. The fee is $80.00 per student. Please make check payable to Melissa Bielawski No Refunds. Students must purchase or borrow the following book for the class:McGraw-Hill�s SAT I (2nd Edition) by Christopher Black.
Workshop Dates: March 6th, 13th & 27th; April 3rd, 10th; May 1st.

MANGA ANIME DRAWING WORKSHOP
Wednesday, March 26th from 7:15-8:45PM
Learn to draw in the style of Japanese Manga. Draw some of your favorite Anime characters from Dragonball Z, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh and others. Paper and pencils will be provided. Registration begins Thursday, March 6th at the Adult Reference Desk. Free Program!
